If you have a website or planning to have one, chance are you have purchased a web hosting. And before that you search what are the best hosting out there, you maybe ask your friend or ask facebook in order for you to arm yourself with the knowledge to help decide which one you choose. But some of you goes to the popular one like Bluehost, Hostgator and Godaddy.
Most of us beginner choose a shared hosting which is enough for our first website. The reason we choose this web hosting is that they are popular and cheap. For those who don’t know what is shared hosting here’s the definition “Shared hosting is Web hosting in which the service provider serves pages for multiple Web sites, each having its own Internet domain name, from a single Web server.” So instead of searching on the internet which is the best-shared hosting here’s my own tips on how to identify what is the quality of shared hosting.
Fast Tech Supports
This is top of my list tech support. Why? Shared Hosting according to the definition is serving multiple websites under one web server. Support should be the number one priorities. Unfortunately, some of the web hosting providers don’t prioritize tech support.
Easy to use Cpanel
Most of the shared web hosting use Cpanel. Although Cpanel has a lot of functionality some of them are not enabled by the web hosting itself maybe for security reason and some of them are heavily customized to the point that you as a user lost in navigating the correct functions.
Locations of the Servers
It is important to know where your server is located or if they offer free CDN (Content Delivery Network). Although we are now in the age of hi-speed internet connection in some country, their internet is not at par with the other countries that’s is why you need to choose web server that is close to you to ensure your data is delivered fast to your users. Example if you are in Singapore it is best to find a web hosting that has server in Singapore or at least close to it or in the case of Philippines where internet is very slow and the electrical power charge is high there’s no commercial web server here if they have I’m sure it’s not cheap so it is best to have a local web hosting that offer close proximity like Singapore or Hong Kong and offer CDN.
RaketHost prioritizes support and offers easy to use Cpanel and have their server is located in Singapore which is best for local web hosting especially in the Philippines.
